Bitter over a strike against a vital bridge, Moscow hit civilian areas of Ukraine with a barrage of rockets, and some Ukrainians feared worse to come.
Less than a day after an explosion damaged Moscow’s bridge to Crimea, Russian missiles again hit residential areas of Zaporizhzhia, local officials said.
Any impediment to traffic on the bridge could affect Russia’s ability to wage war in southern Ukraine, where Ukraine’s forces have been fighting an increasingly effective counteroffensive.
